I concur with the author on the racial connotations of “Baby Momma”, but more than that, applaud the initiative to speak up and point out an issue to a prominent magazine. It’s not easy, it’s never well-received and often generates a severe amount of backlash. However, this case clearly has well done research and I applaud that. Finally, I further applaud the author for following up on the comments she made and not relenting at a wishy-washy apology

It’s so sad to see people who wouldn’t understand the effect harmful words can have because they’re on the opposite end of them lash out because you are taking a stand. It’s really a shame.
